Welcome to the communal living room.

Accessed via Thomas St, The Living Room offers a comforting environment that invites the public to share open and common spaces. Here, visitors will find solace and relief in the value of the social well-being of the community of Haymarket.

The design centres on the movement of people into, through and out of the three major spaces, including the community hub, the art gallery, and the alleyway. The alleyway is the secondary point of entrance and/or exit via George St to level 2 and, hence, the whole building. Through this point of access, one would enter into the art gallery that celebrates local Indigenous Australian artists, as well as the primary cultural demographics that Haymarket and neighbouring suburbs house.
